Palabris

learn 5 languages

Palabris allows you to learn and to practise the vocabulary of five languages: Dutch, French, English, Spanish and German. More than 7000 items, spread out over 330 illustrations, are available.

In the main menu you will find 10 themes, marked by hotspots:

• the farm;
• the human body;
• the school;
• sports;
• the town;
• the street;
• the holiday;
• the house;
• the adjective;
• the verb.

For each theme there are 4 activities to choose:

• to explore the Palabris-world (In addition to the translation-aspect, Palabris is very useful to learn about our world: biology, history, geography, sports…);
• to exercise by choosing the correct hotspot or the correct name;
• to exercise by multiple choice;
• to exercise by typing the names (see it as an additional spelling exercise).

In a setup dialog you can choose, per activity, from several parameters in order to vary the exercise material (e.g. you can choose for either a basic vocabulary or a more extensive one).

Palabris tries to link a hotspot on an illustration with the most appropriate name. Making choices was inevitable. Considering the complexity and richness of each language and regional nuances, the program has a built-in editor which makes data modifications possible. It is even possible to add other languages.
