Before using decimal system applications such as borrowing and carrying in arithmetic, the student first needs to get a thorough hands-on experience with the concepts behind the decimal system.

Centurion offers activities to visualize and internalize these concepts, by: 

• displaying a quantity of objects in a decimal structure;
• naming quantities to 100 objects;
• associate a position in a decimal structure with a number;
• convert a position in a decimal structure to a number on a number line;
• convert a number on a number line to a position in a decimal structure;
• performing adding and subtracting operations within a decimal structure using visual queues.
